Inspiring Future Public Health Leaders
The Pathways to Public Health: Empowering the Next Generation (P2PH-Empower) program at SDSU is a summer initiative for high school students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds in San Diego County. The program helps students explore public health careers, develop leadership skills, and connect with mentors in the field of public health that are dedicated to health equity and social justice. Participants will receive practical tools, guidance, and encouragement to pursue college and career pathways in public health.

Who Should Apply?
You are encouraged to apply to P2PH-Empower if you:
- Are a high school student (9th-11th grade)
- Are interested in public health, health equity, or community service
- Want to learn about diverse public health careers, such as epidemiology, health education, health policy analysis, environmental health, food safety inspection, and more
- Are eager to meet new like-minded friends who share your goals
- Want to connect with mentors and role models from SDSU and the San Diego community
- Are ready to participate fully and enjoy a week of learning and fun this summer
